Watercolor Washes by Kim Thoa Photo Book

I LOVE my photo book project!!! It turned out so beautiful and is amazing. I was hesitant to do the book not knowing if it would look like I wanted and imagined in my mind. But I went for it with trust and positive thoughts. This book took me a long time and a lot of hard work before I ever star...ted. I was wanting to create this book to give to my best friend for the celebration of our 20yr friendship this year. In my entire life, she is the bestest friend I have ever had, and I wanted to do something over the top and very special and this book was that gift. I spent weeks and weeks going through the last 20yrs of digital files consisting of my computer files, phone files, camera cards, CD files and old photograph files. It was a task in itself. Once I found every single photo from our fun times at Disney, going to lunch and shopping, everything we ever did as best friends. Then I had to date each photograph, get them in order, pick out the best and edit anything that needed to be edited and then the task of uploading to my Shutterfly account in a file for the book. I also searched for friendship poems and quotes to intermingle with the story of our friendship for the last 20yrs. Once that was all done and I was ready to start. I picked out a theme of the books that Shutterfly offered, and this is when all my hard work paid off. It was really easy to navigate the process of creating each page and it was so much fun to see the book begin to come together. I did spend weeks working on it for a few hours every night but is because I was documenting a 20yr span. Also, in the process I would have a new idea to add and was always a great addition to the book. To give you an idea why I spent a lot of time creating the book with the 20yrs to document, I ended up with a 106-page book and was gorgeous. I was allowed to have 111 pages total. I chose the 10x10 book with layflat binding and deluxe layflat pages, hard photo cover, matte finish, professional 6 color printing, using the design offered to work with called the storytelling style by Kim Thoa and was an absolute beautiful choice for what I wanted. The page and embellishments offered to work with were a lot of fun to change around for each page, so you were not seeing a lot of repeat backgrounds throughout the book. I let my imagination go wild and it worked beautifully. I ordered 2 books, one for my best friend as a surprise gift and one for myself. When I received the books, they were even more gorgeous and perfect than I ever imagined. I highly recommend that if you ever wanted to do a book, go for it! I will definitely do more books on different aspects of my life and there are many and I have tons of photographs to play with.
